Frequently asked questions.

What is this?

V for Vicious Project is, at its core, a Training Ground: an Immersive, Collaborative, Multidisciplinary + Conceptual Performance Painting Series addressing the Social Mobility quandary of the Modern Womxn: "I am my own muse," "girl boss," “in my villain era,” etc. For the first time in history, Womxn have the ability to enter the market as more than Nurse, Housekeeper, Teacher, but what about the bedroom?   We may present as Self-Directed, but who are we behind closed doors? When our heart is on the line? When rent is due? Do the roles we play in our most intimate dynamics reveal deeper truths about us than we’d like to admit?

My question, after having observed this Conditioned Submission in myself, is how much of this is performative? What does this performativity gain? Do I really feel liberated? Am I truly Self-Directed? In what ways do Epigenetics, Conditioned Submission, PTSD/Trauma, Mental Health, Toxic Empathy, Denial, Religion, Role Play, and most importantly Sex + Intimate Partner Dynamics continue to impact our ability to truly embody liberation + empowerment, and what are we going to do about that?

Maybe you’re sitting there reading this and thinking that you are in fact Self-Directed, Liberated, and Empowered, unimpacted by epigenetics, role assignments, or conditionings—right on, tell me how you did it! Tell me about your journey. Let me pick your brain, then let’s make a Co-created Performance Painting about it. Pieces are co-created based on conversations with real womxn--Conversations with Womxn we know, sharing experience + ideas, taking action on what we’ve discovered in the idea space and engaging potential solutions under the auspices of Art and Performance.

My interest is primarily in the Economic Value (Labor) of Sex and how those Power Dynamics are always in play on the individual + local + national level. I find it fascinating that who we are in the bedroom mirrors who we are in our careers--in a capitalist system, Liberation + Empowerment are economic metrics. Working as a Dominatrix was the direct result of having witnessed how my own conditioning, specifically around Sex, has been preventing me from actually creating the career I truly desire, in a liberated + empowered manner, because I am still waiting for permission to BE as I truly desire.

For me, Sex as Industry is still the Wild West of Capitalism–everything is out in the open + directly mirrors the realities of daily life, dynamics, roles, and experiences. Sex Work is Self-Actualization Boot Camp, and therefore, career bootcamp. Will I cater to the market? What are my boundaries, curiosities, hard-no’s? How much $ is my time worth? How do I expect to be treated? Will I tolerate crossed boundaries? Will I compromise? Will I be coerced/manipulated? Will I overgive? Am I performing my role in a manner which benefits me? What about the Internet of it all? And how is all of this Sex Talk related to the larger question of Social Mobility within a capitalist system? What are the differences in Femxle Experience, what are the commonalities, and what can be done?

V for Vicious Project’s ultimate goal is to create a series of Performances, Portraits, Dialogues (on camera), and Performance Paintings + Spoken Word/Musical Collaborations culminating in a final Exhibition + Installation. This is Research + Activism + Communion.

Collaborators are compensated for work + time $ + % of any sales related to their Co-created Performance Piece. Collaborators are introduced on V for Vicious Project Website, including Bio + Artist Statement. Stills + Clips from Dialogue or Performance Paintings are shared on social media platforms and in the Stills section of V for Vicious Project Website. Collaborators must read carefully the Consent to Use Image portion of the intake survey + work directly with Kait Vicious to create anonymity in a Dialogue or Performance setting as desired until Consent is achieved.

Pieces are created based on conversations with real womxn in reference to peer reviewed studies, feminist discourse, socio-economic-political theory, and lived experience at the local level.

Once you have completed this intake survey, I (Kait Vicious) will follow up with a list of potential discussion topics based on your responses + including all related reference material (excerpts from books, studies, interviews).

Participation is not limited to womxn affiliated with Sex Work as Industry. In fact, the real labor of Sex Work is the unpaid labor of interpersonal dynamics–we are all familiar with the socio-economic-political realities of Sex as Womxn's Value, Currency, Responsibility.

Who can participate?

Collaboration + Co-Creation is open to anyone identifying as Woman, Womxn, Femme, and is a resident of the High Desert or Los Angeles.

How do i apply?

Collaboration begins with Dialogue. The first phase of co-creating our performance painting is to discuss core concepts and values related to V for Vicious Project in conversation. All performance pieces will draw inspiration from this conversation(s). All conversations + performances are recorded and saved in V for Vicious Project research archive. Come on over to my place and let’s chat about sex, local/national labor economics + politics, and femxle experience. Click the link below:

What if I want to participate in the discussion but not the performance?

All groovy, baby. There is no need to participate in the Co-Created Performance. However, in order to collaborate on a performance piece, you must complete phase one (Dialogue) of the collaborative pipeline.

can we participate in groups?

Hell yeah, you can. Group size is limited to 2-3 (not including V). Mix and match options available: group discussion but no performance, group discussion + performance — If you are interested in co-creating a performance piece with a group, that group should complete phase one (Dialogue) together.

What are we gonna talk about?

Lots of stuff on the menu + a General Topics List included as part of the intake survey (click the “Collaborate” link above or navigate to the dropdown menu “More” in the top left of your screen, select the “More” menu option, then the “Collaborate” menu option, and lastly the “Let’s Chat” tab which will redirect you to the Google Form). If you are uncomfortable discussing Sex or Interpersonal Dynamics on camera, but would like to contribute an anecdote, idea, opinion, book, research study to the project in an anonymous manner, that’s cool too. Start with the intake form and we’ll work it out.

What is the format for dialogue?

The format for Dialogue will be as follows:

After you’ve completed your intake form, I will contact you with a short list of potential discussion topics based on your responses. I will then send you one prompt based on your selection from that short-list of more specific topics, including an excerpt taken from one of the books, studies, panel discussions, recorded interviews on the Reference/Read/Watch List. We’ll meet at my place (High Desert + LA + Virtual options) and share ideas related to the prompt + excerpt—what/how we observe this particular thing within our immediate community and within ourselves related to the prompt. This is all recorded on camera + you will have access to the uncut version. Please note, it’s very important we understand that most of the work around Consent, Boundaries, and Expectations is done before the conversation happens. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions, concerns, or ideas. Consent may be withdrawn at anytime.

is this paid?
